ARMY often joke about how broke they are, but what about this?

The South Korean septet’s Louis Vuitton outfits in their epic Dynamite performance at the 2021 63rd Annual Grammy Awards and member J-Hope’s rings were sold at the MusiCares Charity Relief Auction.

Though the 64th Annual Grammy Awards was canceled, the Recording Academy went through with the 2022 MusiCares Charity Relief Auction. BTS contributed five pieces of memorabilia set for auction.

For Lot #40, the auctioned pieces were their custom Louis Vuitton outfits. The estimated bid was about $30,000 to $50,000. BTS being BTS, the 23 bids reached an astounding amount of $160,000. Roughly three times its estimation.

For Lot #41, BTS members signed an Epiphone brand 56 Les Paul Pro ebony electric guitar, all in gold marker. With 30 bids, the $4,000 to $6,000 estimate sold at $64,000. Member J-Hope contributed three rings.

For Lot #42, his sterling silver-three stone ring, appraised at $2,000 to $4,000, was sold at a whopping price of $11,520 with 30 bids.

With Lot #43, J-Hope’s spiral gold-tone ring, calculated roughly at $2,000 to $4,000, was bagged at $6,400.

Lastly, on Lot #44, his braided gold-tone ring was sold at the price of $6,400.

BTS’ contribution, PROVIDENCE, for MusiCares Charity Auction reached $248,000, nearly a quarter-million. BTS also donated to the cause last year, with $1 million.

BTS’ early days were filled with hardship. Members were cramped in one room. They were isolated from other debuts due to BigHit’s financial status then, and they wore $3 shirts for their performances. Suga had to choose whether to eat or walk home. He got into an accident and didn’t get treatment, worsening his injury for years. In American Hustle Life, they gave out tickets for free, performed for free, and even went back to South Korea. They were treated badly in shows, shamed by people they’ve once admired. Hence, there’s no doubt that this cause was close to BTS’ hearts, as all members are known to be philanthropists.

MusiCares was established in 1989 to provide critical assistance for musicians. Services provided include but are not limited to financial, medical, and personal emergencies.
