On January 20 at around 5:18 p.m. local Korean time, the music video for the group’s single “DNA” generated more than 1.4 billion views. The record was achieved exactly four years, four months, and two days after the music video’s online debut on September 18, 2017.
“DNA” is the second video released by the Korean superstars to reach 1.4 billion views. The first music video that achieved the same feat was with “Boy With Luv” which happened on November 24, 2021.
Aside from the record-breaking music video achievement, BTS also won four major awards during the recently concluded Golden Disc Awards 2022 that took place on January 8. They took home the Album of the Year (Daesang) and Best Album (Bonsang) for their album “Be,” the Best Digital Song (Bonsang) for their English-language single “Butter,” and the Most Popular Artist Award.
