2021 was definitely South Korea’s year in the horror-thriller genre. To further solidify their place, they are starting 2022 with a bang. Netflix worked with JTBC Studios and Film Monster to bring an epic zombie horror-thriller to the silver screen.
All of Us are Dead is based on the popular Naver Webtoon Now at Our School by Joo Dong-Geun. The story’s premise lies in a group of students trapped in Hyosan High School. A zombie apocalypse takes over their school, and these students fight for survival or turn into zombie food or infected. The upcoming series has twelve episodes with a 42-minute runtime, which are all expected to be action-packed.
The Netflix teaser showed a glimpse of the trapped students trying to call the police to rescue them. However, a scene shows how the virus ends up spreading outside the school and all over Korea. That left people hanging as to how it will end up that way.
All of Us are Dead is set to premiere on January 28, 2022, in 190 countries.
