NCT 127 Jaehyun’s drama, the remake of the movie Bungee Jumping of their Own, was scrapped.
The 2001 movie Bungee Jumping is a story of reincarnation and same-sex romance. Hence, the adaptation, which was supposed to be a sixteen-episode series, would’ve been a gay romance too. However, the original screenwriter Go Eun-Nim opposed the remake due to her conversion to Christianity.
Various Korean media outlets reported that the story was canceled because of copyright issues. A Kakao TV representative stated that they received words of concern from the original script writer during the planning process. The scriptwriter became a Christian after the 2001 movie. They had to respect her opposition and not go through the remake.
Though fans were displeased as this was the NCT visual’s second series to be canceled, they handled it with kindness and continue to look forward to the boyband’s future endeavors.
