Netflix found a clever way to combine two of its biggest international hits.

The streaming service provider revealed Tuesday, November 29 (US time) that “Squid Game” star Park Hae-soo, the actor who played the role of smart but shrewd finance expert Cho Sang-woo, will take on the role of Berlin in the Korean version of “Money Heist/La Case de Papel.”

Berlin, the fan-favorite character played by actor Pedro Alonso in the original Spanish crime drama, is a terminally ill jewel thief. Viewers love this character because of its dual personality. In one part, he can be cruel and violent. He can also be a sweet and jolly person who can sing a romantic love song.

Park Hae-soo also became famous for playing the role of baseball star-turned-prison inmate Kim Je-hyuk in the popular drama “Prison Playbook.”

Aside from Park Hae-soo, other confirmed Korean “Money Heist” cast members to include Yoo Ji-tae as Professor, Jeon Jong-seo as Tokyo, Lee Won-jong as Moscow, Kim Ji-hun as Denver, Jang Yoon-ju as Nairobi, Lee Hyun-woo as Rio, Kim Ji-hun as Helsinki, and Lee Kyu-ho as Oslo.

The Korean adaptation will be helmed by “L.U.C.A.: The Beginning” director Kim Hong-sun and written by “Psychopath Diary” scriptwriter Ryu Yong-jae.

Meanwhile, the original “Money Heist” is about to wrap up the story. Netflix will release the final episodes on Friday, December 3.
