All systems a “go” for the new drama project featuring Park Seo Joon and Han So Hee.
After reports came out in June 2017 that the actors were in talks to lead the cast of “Geongseong Creature (literal title),” new reports surfaced on Thursday, January 27, that the two actors will be part of the drama. Filming of the drama has already begun.
“Gyeongseong Creature” will be set during the challenging times of Spring 1945. It centers on the story of two young adults who will fight against a mysterious creature for survival. The series will be helmed by “Stove League” director Jung Dong Yoon and written by “Dr. Romantic” writer Kang Eun Kyung.
Park Seo Joon will play the role of Jang Tae Sang, a rich and influential man living in Bukchon. He has naturally good perception and survival skills. He also has a very sociable personality, making him one of the most popular figures in town.
His life will turn upside down after meeting Yoon Chae Ok, the character played by Han So Hee. She lived an entirely different life from Jang Tae Sang as she and her father tried to survive journeying through the cities of Shanghai and Manchuria. She travelled all the way to Gyeongseong to find her mother who mysteriously disappeared one decade ago. There, she met Jang Tae Sang. Together, they try to solve the mysterious case of disappearances.
When asked to comment about the new drama, Park Seo Joon said that he became interested to be part of it because of the historical backdrop of Gyeongseong. “I found a project with that setting, and I am excited and happy to work with an incredible writer, director, and staff members. I will now work hard to portray Jang Tae Sang as an actor,” the actor also said.
Meanwhile, Han So Hee also expressed her commitment to the drama in a separate statement. “I am honored to show a new side of myself through ‘Gyeongseong Creature,’ which is filled with diverse and various stories like Chae Ok who appears tough on the outside but has a warm heart. In order to live up to the great expectations and interest, I will work hard to impress by preparing more diligently,” she said.
“Gyeongseong Creature” is expected to debut in 2023.
