After “Snowdrop” got flak from netizens due to alleged historical distortion, JTBC decided to revise their broadcast schedule to address the concerns of the viewers.
The special broadcast schedule will air the historical romance melodrama’s episode 3 on December 4, episode 4 on December 25, and episode 5 on December 26, at 10:30 p.m. KST.
In a statement, the TV network addressed the ongoing controversy about the drama’s plot after airing the first two episodes. The network decided to release the succeeding episodes to fix the misunderstandings.
The statement also revealed that the episodes will focus on the background story of Jung Hae In’s character Su Ho, a spy from North Korea who was dispatched to South Korea.
“In the drama, it will turn out that the Agency for National Security Planning is the organization that brings the spies to South Korea, and the leaders of North Korea and South Korea will collude for power and money. In addition, [the episodes will contain] stories of young people who get caught up in their secret operations,” the statement read.
JTBC also shared that they respect the views and opinions of the viewers regarding their content. The network also added their decision to open a real-time chat window and viewers’ message board on their website to listen to the viewers’ thoughts.
Aside from Jung Hae-in, “Snowdrop” also stars BLACKPINK’s Kim Jisoo as Hosoo Women’s University freshman Eun Young-ro.
