It’s Okay to Not be Okay female lead Seo Ye-Ji makes a comeback after a seven-month hiatus. Due to a scandal caused by leaked private messages, the South Korean actress halted her activities and removed herself from her project Island, which she would’ve starred along with ASTRO’s Cha Eunwoo.

Now, she is back with another potential hit with tvN’s new drama Eve’s Scandal. The filming started on November 21, and she will start shooting her scenes on the 24th.

Osen and Ten Asia report that Eve’s Scandal is a melodrama surrounding a divorce lawsuit by a chaebol that shook South Korea. Seo Ye-Ji plays the role of Lee Ra-el, a femme fatale with tragedic family background, and she will be at the center of the divorce.

Eve’s Scandal will also star Lee Sang-Yeob, Park Byung Eun, and Yoo Sun. Lee Sang-Yeob’s role will be the human rights lawyer in love with Seo Ye-Ji’s character. The romantic melodrama will air in the first half of 2022.

The Controversy Explained

Media outlet Dispatch leaked Seo Ye-Ji’s messages to then-boyfriend Kim Junghyun, who was filming his series Time in 2018. According to the report, despite the script requiring it, Seo Ye-Ji demanded that the actor not show any skinship or do romantic scenes with his co-star Seohyun of Girls Generation. Reports of Kim Junghyun being rude to his co-star resurfaced.

Seo Ye-Ji didn’t deny her relationship with the actor or the messages. However, as her agency, Goldmedalist stated, the idea of her manipulating the actor who can do things with his own free will and needs to act on his role is impossible.

Fans are delighted with Seo Ye-Ji’s return and look forward to her stellar performance, waiting for her to surpass her acting in the award-winning series It’s Okay to Not be Okay
