Disney+ To Release ‘Running Man’ Spinoff As First South Korean Content

The variety show spinoff is about to air very soon.

On Thursday, November 4, Disney+ revealed that the first South Korean content that they will feature on their streaming platform with the spinoff variety show of SBS’s long-running hit “Running Man.”

The Walt Disney Company, the multimedia corporation behind the streaming platform, also revealed that the cast of the spinoff variety show titled “Outrun by Running Man” will include original cast members Kim Jong-kook, Jee Seek-Jin, and Ha Ha. 

Director Im Hyung-taek, the original show’s lead producer, is also one of the people who run the spinoff. However, the show’s lead star Yoo Jae-suk, will not join the spinoff. 

Fans from different parts of the work got hooked to “Running Man” because of its concept of inviting huge stars to join as cast members and guests. They need to complete various challenges set in some of the biggest landmarks all over the country.

The spinoff will be one of the seven original shows from South Korea to be included in the Disney+ online features. Subscribers of the streaming platform will also see other programs, including the dramas called “Snowdrop,” “Grid,” “Moving,” “Rookies,” and “Sixth Sense Kiss.” The platform will also release an original documentary titled “Blackpink: The Movie” featuring the global hit girl group. 

Disney+ will begin its services in South Korea on November 12. Meanwhile, “Outrun by Running Man” will air sometime this year.
