Classic KDrama “Crash Landing On You “‘s American remake is in its final stages, and fans aren’t that excited for it.

The CEO of Studio Dragon, Kang Chul-Ku, stated that the American remake, a collaboration with Netflix USUS, is in the final stages of development. In the conference held by Korean entertainment company CJ ENM on November 4, the CEO enthusiastically relayed the details, including the reason behind the US adaptation. In the report by EDaily, the CEO stated that the adaptations are meant to show South Korea’s capabilities in embodying the global system by entering what he called an advanced market, which is the United States. Through this, he believes that Kdramas would not end as a trend and secure a spot in competing and leading the way.

CEO Kang also relayed their continuous discussion with Apple TV and Disney+. His focus is to spread kdramas through different channels. Fans are torn with the adaptation as the story of Crash Landing On You’s appeal was the history and conflict between North Korea and South Korea. There’s also the topic of subtitles that people are irate that others can’t adapt to when other foreign-language shows aren’t subjected to the same treatment.

Some fans look forward to how Netflix US will spin this classic and own it. For now, people continue to be skeptical.
