BTS member V’s soothing vocals provide a sanctuary for listeners. That is why it is no surprise that the official soundtrack he sang made records. His song ‘Christmas Tree’ is the OST to his friend Choi Woo-Sik’s romantic comedy-drama Our Beloved Summer.
Based on Billboard’s posting, the song debuted on their main single chart Hot 100. The song is the first Kdrama soundtrack to debut on Hot 100. V’s song debuted on the 79th spot.
Christmas Tree also made an outstanding achievement as it topped the Billboard’s Digital Song Sales Chart. According to MRC Data, the song sold 23,500 units. This is twice Gayle’s dethroned track “abcdefu,” which had 11,000 downloads.
The song also ruled Spotify’s Top Songs Debut Global for three consecutive days, from December 24, the first-ever KDrama soundtrack to make this achievement.
Another accomplishment under the member’s belt and a win for the group as they start the year. BTS will launch a new album this year, which reportedly “opens the door to a new chapter.”
With Christmas Tree’s achievements, ARMYs are excited as to when V will announce the release of his much-awaited mixtape.
