BTS is currently resting. However, this doesn’t stop their songs from achieving recognition left and right. China is one of the countries that doesn’t let most foreign songs be available on their platforms. BTS is one of the few exceptions. Still, they are only available on Netease, a small competitor against other giant companies that carry foreign acts. China is also one of the countries that practice patriotism and only recently opened its barriers to South Korean content such as drama and k-music.
As always, this doesn’t stop BTS a single bit. They’ve already broken records on Netease. Now, they’re nominated in nine categories for the 2021 China Year-End Awards.

Due to the ban, BTS isn’t promoting its songs and albums in China. With China set to release a Korean film, this may signal a boycott and widen the area for the band to completely dominate, if it hasn’t already.
The China Year-End Awards trended online due to the “Best-selling Group Single.” BTS had three entries: Butter, Permission to Dance, and Butter feat. Megan the Stallion.

Their nomination breaks the preconceived notion that BTS isn’t thriving in other Asian countries. With the limitations imposed on C-Army, they and BTS truly deserve recognition as a hardworking duo.
The winners of the China Year-End Awards will be announced on December 16, 2021.
