Problematic YouTuber Sojang created rumors that targeted BTS member Jeon Jungkook. On December 23, the channel uploaded a video linking the band member to actress Lee Yu-Bi. His video, entitled “Nine dating evidences collected over the past year,” has reached more than 700,000 views as of date.
Lee Yu-Bi is a fan of the band. However, claims of her having the singer as her ideal type, his hometown Busan as her favorite place, and other rumors have begun to surface. On the singer’s release from quarantine on December 16, the actress uploaded a photo of her on a night out. Sojang claims that this and a prior deleted photo of her with a tattooed person link to the singer. There’s also the fact that Lee Yu-Bi follows Jungkook’s brother on Instagram.
This all came to a halt when the actress’ management released a statement. Y-Bloom Entertainment stated that Lee Yu-Bi and the singer have never met, and she is only a fan.
Fast and straight to the point, BigHit Music released a statement that debunks Sojang’s claims. Now, they are taking legal actions as these posts of Sojang are, as stated, exceeding reasonable and acceptable boundaries of expression and personal commentary.
Sojang is also the source of other BTS dating rumors. V is also personally considering suing the YouTuber due to his actions against his family and friends that blew up last month after he linked him to a chaebol heiress.
BigHit Music said they routinely check their message boards, monitor social media, and do not tolerate attacks on their artists.
